We had a busy day the day of Mike and Kath’s shoot, theirs was the first of two engagement shoots of the day. We used a couple of locations for their session, moving from the woods to an industrial estate giving a variety of styles.

We were invited over to do a before and after makeover shoot for Clare Beard, a new local Makeup Artist (MUA) who’s trying to get established.

Turns out she’s a real natural and we got some cracking shots of the three girls – it was originally two but Judy’s something of a poser and volunteered to have hers done too!

Professional Headshot Session with Lucy Johnson

It’s always good to meet other freelancers, Lucy Johnson was definitely no exception. Lucy is a a freelance marketing consultant to the fitness industry. I had the privilege of shooting her new headshots on a brief return from her home in Cyprus. Our brief was for several shots in different outfits on a white background. In our usual style we broke the mould a little adding a dynamic angle to the shots to add a modern twist.

Claire very kindly asked me to shoot some family portraits. As per our normal set-up we went to their quaint country house in the Essex countryside for their session. We used a mix of studio flash and natural daylight to achieve the best results possible.

Engagement Shoot Session with Richard and Elisabet

We met up with Richard and Elisabet at a local nature reserve for their engagement shoot (a pre-wedding portrait session). We had a beautiful day for it and spring was very much upon us, we made use of the golden light and the daffodils!

For those of you unfamiliar with what an engagement shoot entails, we treat them as a non-dress rehearsal. It helps our wedding couples get used to how we work on the day, practising a few standard poses and getting them used to being in front of the camera. It also gives us a chance to see what style of shot and post processing couples particularly like and therefore ultimately allows us to make the most of couples wedding photos.

Judy is Running the London Marathon!

Those of you who know us well will already know that Judy is running the Virgin London Marathon on 22nd April.
Those of you who do not, Judy is running the Marathon for the charity “Mind” who provide help for people with mental illnesses including free counselling and psychiatric help. Over the years, they have helped several members of both of our families suffering from General Anxiety Disorder, Debilitating Agoraphobia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Judy is not a born runner and has been training incredibly hard, running as much as 48 miles in 6 days. As a result of her rigorous training schedule I have become a marathon widower! But I am extremely proud of her, it is something I solemnly believe I could never achieve and as such I am writing today, to appeal to all of our readers and fans to donate to this incredibly worthy cause.
