I made a visit to (for a wedding venue recce) Saint Paul’s Walden Bury, near Hitchin, Herts on 31st May, and I was taken aback by it’s grandeur. The house is very grand and stands in some of the most beautiful gardens I have had the pleasure of visiting, even in the pouring rain!
On the couple in question’s big day they are getting married by the ‘pond’ in a lovely little building and having their reception in a marquee in the grounds. The grounds are extensive and full of photo fodder and is laid out like a maze, it is all grass so I can imagine a bride’s dress suffering from the dirt and stains over the course of the day. This aside it’s a lovely venue and even if the weather doesn’t hold it will make for a wonderful day.
Go to http://www.stpaulswaldenbury.co.uk/ for more information on the venue, including open gardens. Well worth a visit.
